The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on infrastructure, businesses, culture and our daily lives has been profound. A sustainable post-COVID future requires imaginative and innovative solutions. The design industry—as well as the arts and cultural sector—will be critical in our path forward, with its creativity and ability to think outside the box.

Svensk Form (the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design) and the Embassy of Sweden are proud to host a conversation between two of our countries’ most engaged designers: Emma Olbers and Yves Behar. Emma and Yves will reflect on their work, what they have learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, and what role design can play to shape ”the new normal” and build a more sustainable society. They will speak to us from their respective studios in Stockholm and San Francisco.

This conversation is part of the Embassy of Sweden’s new seminar series, Rethink Tomorrow, which brings together creators, thinkers and experts to discuss critical global issues from equality to sustainability to democracy and explore creative ways to build a better future.
