Designing for death in a divided future
During this project, I have examined two polarized future scenarios shaped by the climate crisis. From these scenarios, death artifacts have been born. The first, Vessel of return, is a degradable urn that enables material rebirth. The second, Orb of descendancy, compresses a lifelong digital footprint into a crystal ball.
Jury Motivation:
A thought-provoking concept with exceptional design, using contrasting elements to represent analog and digital life. By addressing the taboo subject of the afterlife, it opens up important dialogues about our future and presents nuanced scenarios that encourage important conversations about mortality and digital legacy.
