Motivation
This year's Moldmaker of the West is Emma von Brömssen. As a skilled pattern designer, she combines a personal and artistic expression with a strong sense of craftsmanship and tradition. By managing and renewing the Swedish pattern heritage, she contributes to strengthening and developing the West Swedish design scene.
With her timeless designs, where heritage meets contemporary aesthetics, Emma demonstrates the importance of good and thoughtful design. Through carefully selected partners, she combines beauty, quality and sustainability in her work. Her work enriches the everyday lives of many people and reminds us of the importance of surrounding ourselves with beautiful and well-produced objects in our homes.
About Formslaget
On October 6 at 18:45, Swedish Form's regional associations will award Form Bearers across the country. S.O.U.P. (Showcasing Odd Unfiltered Perceptions)
The exhibition title is both an acronym and a playful metaphor for the exhibition as a whole. You are invited to explore a simmering and ever-evolving meal where craft practices, materials and design methods are the main ingredients. Themes such as man's relationship with nature, care, the essence of memory and the power of collective creation are all present. The exhibition offers space for reflection, challenges our perception and opens up new possibilities of being - perhaps as a different material, creature or person. The works also testify to a longing to exist outside the traditional gallery space, to be activated in performance and move freely between materials and techniques.
Throughout all the works, making is the driving force - a making that transforms both ourselves and the world around us, with every stitch, stroke and joint.
/Curator, Helena Pernow
The degree exhibition S.O.U.P. Showcasing Odd Unfiltered Perceptions presents degree projects by students from the Bachelor's and Master's programs in Metal Design, Furniture Design specializing in wood and Textile-Body-Space.
