Mold carriers in Småland 2025

The Design Archive has been nominated as a Shape Bearer 2025 with the following motivation:

"Svensk Form Småland appoints the Designarkivet in Nybro as Form Bearer 2025 to recognize the important role and work of the archive. Ever since it was founded in 1978, as the Archive of Swedish Design, the Designarkivet has worked to preserve designers' sketches and working materials and thereby try to capture and portray the design process.
The collection, which is national, currently comprises around 120 000 records from more than 800 designers and is constantly growing through new donations. The collections are maintained and made accessible despite limited resources.
The Design Archive has also reached a wider audience through the summer exhibitions of recent years, last year on the textile designer Göta Trädgårdh and the circle of designers around her and this year on KF's design history. Content-rich and interesting exhibitions that exemplify the importance of the archive, the collections and a desire to create a wider knowledge of what shapes our everyday lives.
Also worth noting is the organization behind it, the non-profit organization Kalmar konstförening, which runs Kalmar Konstmuseum and Designarkivet, with municipal, regional and state support."
The award was presented on October 5 in connection with a study visit to the Design Archives.
