Textile collection V.IR. - Ingegerd Råman/Verk

V.IR. is a furniture textile developed in collaboration between Verk, designer Ingegerd Råman and several actors in the Swedish textile industry, including Ullkontoret, Sjuhäradsbygdens Färgeri, Väveriet i Bollnäs, Rodens Spinneri and Artex. The textile is made from 100% Swedish wool and is based on the natural colors of sheep, resulting in four variants without added chemicals. The material is durable, with test results of 70,000 Martindale, and is well suited for public environments. Production takes place entirely in Sweden, with short transportation routes and wool that would otherwise be wasted from dairy and meat production.

Jury motivation

With V.IR., Ingegerd Råman shows that textile form can be both restrained and powerful. The collection bears traces of deep material knowledge and artistic integrity, where each thread conveys slowness, presence and a gentle renewal of the textile cultural heritage.

The collaboration, initiated by Verk, is based on several years of exploratory work to develop textile production in Swedish wool. By combining Råman's finely tuned design world with Verk's commitment to local manufacturing and sustainable production, a collection emerges where the functional meets the poetic in a perfect interplay between form and production.

V.IR. is an example of how form can be a language, silent but deeply communicative. A work that is rooted in tradition while looking to the future, where sustainability is not an add-on but a natural part of the expression.
