I am drawn to systems; mathematical, material, or irrational. Using geometrically reduced modules, I improvise complex structures that take you on a journey through time, space, and imagination. It is an exploration of modularity and repetition, an acrobatic navigation between craft, art, and design.
Jury motivation
With respect and reverence for history, but with an eye firmly fixed on the future, these modules have been created with great craftsmanship and integrity in cast stoneware. The system is designed to modulate sculptures with a strong presence and a powerful visual expression. At the same time, it suggests a potential to expand in all directions – to grow, piece by piece, and generate new forms that merge into space and architecture. The possibilities are endless.
