Race against time

My work depicts the human struggle against the passage of time. Through movement, textiles, and air, an installation is created in which the body works in vain against the inevitable. A physical metaphor for the struggle between the body, time, and the desire to remain young. Pedaling forward to turn back time, a paradoxical act.

Jury motivation

Race Against Age questions the ways in which people try to resist the natural aging process. This interactive sculpture invites the viewer to sit on an exercise bike covered with a printed fabric that resembles human skin. As you pedal, the sculpture in front of you begins to inflate and its facial features swell.

The work serves as a commentary on the beauty and health industry's obsession—a constant battle against nature itself.
