War Trauma
In my series of artworks, I explore pain and identity during and after war through sculpture, textiles, illustration and installation. Through tactility, sound, light and smell, I want to challenge and make the viewer re-evaluate notions of loss and trauma.
Jury Motivation:
A very strong and moving portrayal of an ever so topical theme. With ingenious simplicity, self-perceived experiences are recreated, evoking immediate and strong emotions in the viewer. A fine thread runs through the work, skillfully executed in a variety of techniques.
