A Lovely Atmosphere packaging concept - Bedow/GBGT Box

A Lovely Atmosphere is a collection of five paper boxes from GBGT Box, designed in collaboration with design studio Bedow. Each box represents one of the five layers of the earth's atmosphere and serves as both a catalog of materials and an embodiment of how packaging can be used to convey ideas. The collection showcases the company's craftsmanship in packaging production and combines technology with narrative design. The innermost box contains a ginkgo seed that the recipient can plant, giving the project a tangible link to the theme of recycling and sustainability.

Jury motivation

A Lovely Atmosphere shows how packaging can be much more than a protective layer. With a grandiose analogy to the Earth's atmosphere, which both protects and beautifies, it tells a story about the properties of packaging materials and their calculated footprint.

The result is a combination of packaging, fact sheet and poetic expression, a design that both informs and moves. By making visible the layers that shape both atmosphere and material, the work reminds us that every action leaves traces in our environment.

The jury sees here a typical example of excellent Swedish design, where form becomes communication and where good design has the ability to evoke insight, emotion and meaning.
