Excellent Svensk Form & Young Svensk Form

"Utmärkt Svensk Form" and "Ung Svensk Form" will be on display at Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå from May 26 to August 30, 2026. Together, they present a cross-section of contemporary Swedish design, ranging from young designers’ experimental works to finished products in use.

In the exhibitions, visitors encounter design from a wide range of fields, where design intersects with technology, materials, and stories about our times. Projects on display include those in fashion, industrial design, architecture, gaming, textiles, and public design.

Ung Svensk Form

Ung Svensk Form is an annual award and exhibition that has been showcasing new voices in Swedish design since 1998. Every year, hundreds of young designers and architects submit their projects. An interdisciplinary jury selects about twenty entries to be featured in the exhibition.

On display here are prototypes, material studies, and finished works in fields such as furniture, textiles, industrial design, architecture, graphic design, fashion, and crafts. The projects straddle the line between experimentation and practice and address issues of sustainability, production, identity, and our future living environments.

Excellent Swedish Form

"Utmärkt Svensk Form" is Svensk Form’s design award for products, materials, and environments that stand out for their design quality and contemporary relevance. The selection is based on industry monitoring and nominations from the industry, the general public, and the jury’s own network. The projects featured in the exhibition have been realized and are either in production or in public spaces.

Among this year’s works are Ellen Hodakova’s fashion, the game *Split Fiction* from Hazelight Studios, led by Josef Fares, and the electric snowmobile *Vidde*. Together with projects in medical technology, materials development, and public design, the exhibition shows how design today takes shape in many areas of society—from everyday objects to advanced technical solutions.

"Utmärkt Svensk Form 2026" is a joint production by Svensk Form and Tarkett, in collaboration with Ekenhuset and Visit Skellefteå, and is being carried out with support from the Municipality of Skellefteå. The exhibition was conceived by architects Julia Bianco Sommer and Anna Erixon, Tarkett’s scholarship recipients from Ung Svensk Form, and designed using materials from Tarkett.

Ung Svensk Form 2026 is a co-production between Svensk Form and Dunkers Kulturhus and is organized in collaboration with IKEA of Sweden, the IKEA Museum, and a number of partners and grant providers, with support from the City of Stockholm. The exhibition will tour nationally throughout the year and will be on view at ArkDes, the Borås Textile Museum, Sara Kulturhus, the IKEA Museum, and Dunkers Kulturhus, among other venues. The exhibition was designed by Matti Klenell.
