The Snickeriet Office – Elding Oscarson / Lindahl Law Firm / Property Owner Varvsstaden AB

The Snickeriet project involves the renovation of Varvsstaden’s oldest surviving industrial building in Malmö into the offices of the Lindahl law firm. Elding Oscarson allows the building’s history, materials, and structure to remain visible through the reuse of existing elements and carefully considered additions.

Jury motivation

The project is characterized by its innovative approach to restoring an environment that does not possess traditional restoration value. The historically functional working methods and their seemingly carefree approach have been preserved and highlighted. Through careful interventions and thoughtful additions, the industrial environment has been transformed into a contemporary workplace. The carpentry workshop has been awarded the Utmärkt Svensk Form 2026 prize for its exemplary work in transformation, reuse, and long-term design.
