Svensk Form's Anniversary

On October 6, 1845, the Swedish Craft Association—now known as Svensk Form—was founded. Every year, we celebrate the association’s anniversary with Formslaget—a day when our regional associations highlight form and design throughout the country.

Svensk Form works to promote, highlight, and develop Swedish design. An important part of this work is the “Designer of the Year” award.

Each year, 13 “Ambassadors of Form” are selected from 13 different regions of Sweden. The selections are made by Svensk Form’s regional associations, which highlight individuals, organizations, and initiatives that demonstrate the importance of form and design—for people’s daily lives, our living environments, and the development of society.
